Red Canyon

$4,500.00

28x16” inches  Oil on canvas

When I first moved to Santa Fe, I signed up for museum or college-guided trips to see lesser-known petroglyph sites. We occasionally found ourselves hiking through narrow slot canyons before the way opened to a marvelously marked rock face holding amazing storytelling petroglyphs.  Walking through the narrow canyons of water-smoothed rock walls, the sandy floor made smooth from the power and demanding force of mother nature was clearly felt.  Naturally carved by water and topped by the occasionally improbably balanced boulder, I found myself in awe and gratitude for the beauty of our mother earth.
