Biotic
#26 2015 16X20 oil on paper.jpg Oil on Paper 20 x 16 inches. Again I painted this piece at the Baca Street Studio -Gallery and is an example of the next evolution in this series. I t was started with the intention of a Biotic painting. I first approached it by building layers of patterns and colors. Once that was all dry I came back and "cut-out" the shapes using the burnt orange and pale lavender/pink paint.
#27 DescriptionThis is the very first discovery painting I created from a sad and dusty, failed 'View From Above' painting. I was playing around to see what I might save and use to transform it into something more interesting. It was painted on an expensive cradled panel and I just hate wasting my materials! This painting is in my personal collection. First discovery paintings are very special and always unique with more than just the final visual. I might sell offer a limited edition of Giclee prints. #27

I did have a great deal of fun with the shapes and colors. Painting the Background was the last thing and keeping the blue sinking deeper and deeper into the dark depths was nearly a week of work! And worth it! This painting sold. This is the very first discovery painting I created from a sad and dusty, failed 'View From Above' painting.
